October 10th - Jasper turns 20 tomorrow but we celebrated it today.  They had fall break so came home Wednesday night.  Gramma Lou and Grandpa Lou (aka grandpa Lorentz to you who are not 3 years old!) showed up Thursday night.  We had a good time at our friends, Dave and Lori Lynch, place on Saturday evening/night.  They host a harvest fest each year and invite church family and friends.  There was over 100 people there.  Did special music in church on Sunday and then had a party for Jasper in the afternoon.  They left to go back to Hyden but will be back the next 2 weekends as we have singing engagements so that will be nice.  Grandpa and Jasper tore Vanessa's Sable apart and we replaced the AC compressor and then put it back together all within 24 hours so she is happy!  I was really sick on Thursday and spent most of Friday in bed. I am feeling a lot better now.

October 17th - Have enjoyed having mom and dad here.  We even got some much needed rain on Wednesday (could still use more) had a great group here at New Life on Saturday and then on Sunday we sang at a church in Louisville and presented New Life.  Jasper and Starlit came home and we had a great time with them.  The weather has been very nice and we are all feeling alright except Vanessa, her throat is really bothering her so please pray for her.

October 24th - Anita, Mom/Aunt Mavis and Jonathon birthdays - we only got to celebrate with mom BUT that was a lot of partying!  Mom & Dad treated Vanessa and I to a cruise on the Belle of Louisville (paddle wheeler built in 1914) and that was a lot of fun.  Went to Huber farm and bought apples, then that night we sang at Henryville and then did special music Sunday morning and the sang at a function in Prospect KY on Sunday afternoon (Oh yeah, went to lunch at Cracker Barrel) and then had a big supper at Aunt Yvonne's with all the clan.  Uffda!

October 31st - the weather has turned a bit more fallish here and we actually had tornado watches on Tuesday all the way from Indianapolis to Louisville.  We did not have any damage to buildings BUT Aunt Yvonne's nice Dodge pickup had a large limb hit it and did some substantial damage to the cab and the box.  I started burning the fireplace on Friday evening and we had some pretty good frost that night.  We went to a nice farm that has a corn maze and other things (nothing Halloween related and I thanked them for that!) today with the New Chapel youth group.  We all have a really good time.  Vanessa has a doctors appointment tomorrow so please continue to pray for her, her throat, fatigue and just overall aches and pains.  We serve a mighty God who is able to accomplish anything!  Mom and dad are heading home  and we miss them already.
