Tim & Vanessa Lorentzen Family!

October 2nd - One more weekend of summer!  It was close to 90 on Sunday so we went wading down at the River.  Our group (Old Hat) performed Saturday at 11:30 at a food and home show at the Civic Center and had a good time.  It sure a blessing to sing and play with the family.  We are working up new material and thinking of (actually had 5 or 6 people ask) trying to record a CD this winter.  Jazmyn had a double ear infection so was not feeling good for a while.  Vanessa' aunt Yvonne and uncle Byron from Indiana came up and brought her aunt Estelle from Iowa.  It was good to see them.

October 9th - More rain and nice weather then turned colder.  Pretty typical I suppose.  Gas prices are still the same.  The boys (Zion, Jasper and I) slept in the tent in the backyard Friday and Saturday night to commemorate the Feast of Tabernacles.  Got a bit chilly Saturday night.  This a wonderful Feast to help us remember how the Children of Israel dwelt in tents (the  meaning of the word as a noun is "temporary shelter" and as a verb is "to take up temporary residence") and how Yesuha (Jesus) came to dwell (to tabernacle) with us!  Jasper turns 16 on Wednesday and is eager to take his drivers test.  Will keep you posted as to his progress.  Jazmyn talks a mile a minute and you can even understand some of it!  Zion has been enjoying school with mom although with Jazmyn around it is tough to get it done.  Jasper and Starlit are doing fine at Wachter.  The family band is playing next Saturday in Steele.  Amanda turned 13 on Saturday so another teenager in the clan! 

October 16th - Well Jasper is 16 and had a good birthday.  He is going to take his drivers test on Thursday.  We had a cold week with snow on the 11th actually.  Jazmyn was sick all weekend and is still off her feed.  Zion & Jasper camped out with our dear friends Ed & Bev a couple of nights and were cold!  The Feast of Tabernacles is an 8 day festival so wrapped up yesterday.  We did not play in Steele as Starlit had a prior commitment that we had forgotten about with The Strolling Strings group she is a part of.  We were not one of the main groups but were going to play Open Stage (for those of you who are not familiar with that phrase, that is when they have an open time for anyone who wants to play before the main concert) and they had others to play.

October 23rd - Well it is official - Jasper has his license!  Passed the first time so that is all good.  He is going to be driving the Geo but that is having some weird electrical problem we need to figure out.  Holly and the kids came up for a visit so it was good to see them.  The weather is cold.  We had about 3 inches of wet snow on Tuesday but it all melted.

October 30th - Colder weather but no snow.  Jasper has been driving to school, it sure is handy to have him able to do that and take Starlit to lessons etc.  Vanessa's brother John turned 42 on Friday and Don Leuf turned 38 I do believe.  Gramma Lou (won't tell) Anita, Jonathan and Aunt Mavis all had birthdays this week too!  Uff da!
