May 4th - More rain and nice days with cool nights.  Things are growing here like you can't believe!  Zion has found many items of interest outdoors one of which was an 8" long crawdad.  We got a bunch of cows moved and I only got kicked once and stepped on once!  We went to another jam and met some more nice people.  There are so many jams and musical things going on down here that it is hard to decide which to attend.  Yesterday we did special music (2 songs at 2 services) at the church Duvon & family attend in Scottsburg and the response was wonderful!  Pray that whatever is causing crud in my throat to go away!

May 14th - Mother's Day - I guess every day needs to be Mother's Day as it does no good to attempt to treat Mother as queen on one day a year and treat her as slave the rest.  Vanya is now walking around holding onto things.  We have been seeing much wildlife, bull frogs (that sound like cows) snakes, caterpillars, crawdads, minnows, luna moths, jumping spiders and other things that are not identified!  Zion has been having a ball.  He is also playing a full-size violin (we are looking for a good 3/4 for him) and is enjoying that much more than his 1/2 size (that was not a good violin ever).  We went to another jam on Saturday night and met an amazing 6 year old who plays mandolin, guitar, and more.  Jasper and I are working on a large tractor for Duvon so there is always something new to do!  Oh yeah, gramma Grace is 95.

May 19th - Another eventful week!  Played at a Mustang car show up in Salem on Friday and saw some really nice cars!  Then Saturday played at the local church for a fund raiser.  On Sunday Starlit had her Orchestra concert and that was very good.  Jasper, Starlit, Zion and I went to the new Chronicles of Narnia movie and that was also very good.  Isaac & Cierla were in a school play Friday night and we went to that and enjoyed that.  Isaac brought over a Hog nose snake on Saturday and Zion enjoyed that.  We saw a snapping turtle.

June 1st - Well much goes on and I skipped a week there.  The long weekend saw family come down and that was fun.  Ross & Janice came down on Monday the 19th arriving late in the evening.  Jasper, Starlit and I had been down in Louisville and played at the Chapel at Churchhill Downs for a service.  Ross & Janice stayed until Thursday evening the 29th.  Jasper and I have been raking and baling hay.  The weather has been up in the 80's for several days and they say 90's this week!  Uffda is all I can say.  The humidity has been pretty high (at least for us) also.  I caught a large bullfrog last night and Zion enjoyed looking at him up close, taking some pictures and then letting him go.  Duvon brought in a baby turtle from the hay field so Zion is keeping that for a while.
