May 7th - Well Vanessa and I had quite a trip!  We drove gramma Grace down to Vinton Iowa on Saturday and came back on Sunday.  1450 mile round trip and rain and wind almost the whole way.  It was a bit tiring.  Ed & Bev came up on Friday evening and spent the weekend with the kids.  Moriyah turned 2 on Saturday and had a fun party.

May 14th - Wonderful weather!  Actually too nice!  It got up to 90 yesterday and that is a bit too hot for May!  We went to the lake on Saturday and spent a couple of hours and had a lot of fun.  Holly and her kids came (Nick had to work) and our friends Joe & Regina from Bismarck.  The price of gas goes up but what can you do.  It is $1.899 for regular unleaded and $2.069 for premium here in Bismarck.  A couple of cents per gallon cheaper in Washburn so it helps to fill up there.

May 21st - Wind and then more wind!  What a country!  Saturday while the kids and I (all except Zion) were spending the afternoon fixing fence, it was hot and sunny!  Then that evening thunder storms and on Sunday it was cold and windy (winds up to 45 mph) and about 50 degrees.  I did manage to get Vanessa's flower beds tilled up with a little tiller my buddy Joe lent me.  Ross & Janice went to a wild horse sale in Valley City and came back with a yearling wild mustang!  A blue roan.  A nice horse.  I got the Galaxie out of storage and she fired right up after 7 months!

May 30th - Memorial Day - a great time to reflect on not just the freedom that we enjoy in this country, but the price that freedom came at!  George came out from Fargo and spent the weekend.  We spent all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon packing up our good friends the Dooleys (who are moving to Milwaukee).  Went to the lake Saturday evening and to a show in Garrison on Sunday night.
