June 6th - What a short week. Did not work on Tuesday as we were coming back from Three Hills and then on Friday I began a tiring but wonderful weekend. I went to Do North, a bluegrasss jam camp with Monroe Crossing as instructors. It was out in Bemidji MN and what a beautiful place! So a short work week but a lot of traveling and playing music. June 12th - What a week! I know I say that a lot but this time I really mean it! From Sunday (leaving Bemidji) through this Sunday I drove 2000 miles. I had 5 days of INTENSE training in Dickinson (drove out every day for that) and then drove to the Peace Gardens Friday night. On Saturday Zion took first place in the Small Fry division and Jasper, Starlit and I played 2 20 minute sets up there in between some of the rounds then we drove home and arrived at 1 A.M. and on Sunday went out to Richardton and did a 1 hour show for a camp for disabled persons so wow! Jazmyn has strep throat and an ear infection so is on medication. She is a beast about taking it though! She is feeling some better. Oh yeah, Zion and Starlit were in Suzuki Institute at BSC Monday through Thursday so busy week for all! Then Vanessa took a pre-requisite course (Every Child Can) on Saturday and Sunday. She goes to Saskatoon in July for more training for Early Childhood Education with the Suzuki Method. June 19th - Lewis & Clark
days in Washburn so we went up for the parade on Saturday and then over to the
Cross Ranch where we camped overnight and did some jamming. Cedar
Hill (the headline group from last years Bluegrass Festival at the Cross
Ranch) had a concert Sunday afternoon and then they came to our house and
stayed. We all slept in the camper in the driveway and they had the
house. It was really neat to get to know them a bit better. Zion seems
to be fired up about fiddle playing. Jasper and Starlit are really bent on
a name for our group so any suggestions are welcome! I took Monday off so
in the afternoon we took the boat out for the first time this year. Went
down to the river for a couple of hours. |
