July 5th - Another wild week!  The 4th was nice weather wise - the parade was long - the fireworks were nice!  George came out for the weekend.  We bought a camper after looking at 25 or 30 locally and in Beulah and Fargo so it was a busy week!  Now to get it ready for this weekend which is the Bluegrass Festival at the Cross Ranch (that would be the angry ranch for some of you) - Starlit is going up on Wednesday for the fiddle workshop of 2 days and then the Festival kicks off on Friday evening.  The quartet (with Hollis  singing lead for the vacationing Duane) sings on Sunday at 2 - we have been working on the songs a lot and Hollis is doing very well.

July 11th - Hot!  Humid!  North Dakota weather I guess.  Hit 100 on Saturday and was nasty out.  We had a great time in spite of it at the Bluegrass Festival.  The girls (Vanessa, Starlit and Jazmyn) were there from Wednesday night on as Starlit took 2 days of fiddle workshops.  The workshops were put on by the headline group. Cedar Hill (check them out here) who are not only wonderful musicians, but great people as well!  Hollis sang the lead part in our quartet as Duane was gone - he did a fantastic job and made me really proud.  Starlit helped out with food and things and the volunteers bragged her up.  Jasper made a big sacrifice and spent most of the weekend being with Zion at the kids programs.  Of course Jazmyn was a big hit with everyone.  All in all it was a wonderful time and makes me realize what a great family I am blessed with!

July 18th - The weather stays hot!  Went to the river one night and had a great time just floating and exploring sand bars.  Zion went to VBS and had fun.  Vanessa and the kids went to Turtle Lake on Saturday (I had to work - server updates that can't be done during normal business hours) and then had a party for gramma Janice's birthday (I can't say how young she is or she might do me bodily harm) we spent the day at home yesterday and enjoyed our yard.

July 25th - Another wild week!  We had hail on Thursday night - golf ball sized.  The house did not get any damage but the Suburban did and so did the camper.  Knocked out the 2 vents on the camper and roughed up the AC coil.  We had neighbors who lost windows and had siding damage so we came out alright.  Went camping on the weekend and to our friends the Dagleys - they were having a really neat get together called Prairie Days.  Got a little too much sun but had a good time.  Jazmyn sure loves the water.
