January 2nd - Snow!  Record breaking but not near what they received in some places.  We did receive 11 - 12 inches from Friday afternoon through Saturday night late.  We got the snowmobiles going Saturday and had a lot of good riding.  Sunday evening we had a small get together at our house with Hollis & Jenny, their friend Amanda and the 4 older Jackson kids.  Gramma Lou and grandpa Lorentz left on Thursday and got home safely although they did run into some nasty roads.  On Monday we had a nice family lunch and then went to the ranch with the snowmobiles.  They had about the same amount of snow and it was a good time.  Starlit and Jasper were not too excited about getting back to school today but that is life!  Work was crazy the whole month.  The store was very busy and we had a record month.  Of course we have only been open since last March but still it was a good month.

January 8th - We still have a lot of snow and did some more riding this weekend.  Jazmyn even got into the act and loves the snow and riding in the sled behind.  Have had some colds and sniffles but nothing too bad.  Jasper did have an unfortunate incident involving a fence and snowmobile but God is so gracious and he was not seriously injured.  He did get some nasty cuts and bruises and is pretty sore.  I think both he and Kory learned several lessons there not the least of which is God spared them both.  Kory was riding beside and slightly behind Jasper on his own snowmobile and hit the fence after Jasper took the brunt of it.  Music lessons begin again this week so busy busy!

January 15th - Cold!  24 below this morning but no wind.  We went to Rapid City to see Nick & Holly over the weekend.  The weather was a bit nicer although still cold.  They don't have much for snow.  Vanessa had a wonderful time with Holly and of course the kids always enjoy seeing each other.  Nick & I watched a lot of football and they were good games.  Today Hollis turns 20!  Hard to believe that much time has gone by.  I must be getting old.  Jazmyn has really started talking and is sure a lot of fun.  Children are a gift from God that is for sure!

January 22nd - God is good!  George had some worries as he went to the doctor as a follow up for his high blood pressure but he received a good report!  We continue to have winter weather temperatures but not any more snow.  We could sure use more moisture.  Jasper and Starlit did very well the first semester.  We went skiing on Friday with the home school group and had a fun and safe time.

January 29th - Well another month passes!  Time seems to move quicker (I am sure I mentioned this before BUT the memory also goes) the older I get.  I went to the pre-natal appointment and we heard the heart beat!  Even though I have experienced that before the miracle of that little life still amazes!  I am also amazed that Satan has blinded so many and that they can believe that the baby is not a real person.  Uff da!  We attended a great concert and workshops this weekend.  We are all in good health and I have been taking Zion and Jazmyn swimming once a week and they sure love it.  Of course Zion has loved the water since he was very young and Jazmyn is loving it too.  She will take a breath and dunk her head under.  I have been working on (and I think she finally has it) having her close her mouth before the dunking!  Children are such a blessing and to quote gramma Blanche "God is good".
