December 01 -  Hanukkah began on Friday evening!  We lit the first candle of the menorah, had a wonderful meal, played dreidel and had a relaxing evening.  Thanksgiving was a peaceful day with good fellowship and food.  So much to be thankful for!  On Sunday evening we went to a showing of the Billy Graham film The Climb - excellent movie for discussion!

December 9th - Had a wonderful time celebrating Hanukkah!  Had our dear friends the Schneider's over on Friday evening for the last evening and had a great time!  Good food, good fellowship, an awesome Heavenly Father, life is good!  The weather went from below normal temps to above normal so once again the only thing predictable about the weather is the complete unpredictability of it!  Well, like I said, Yah is good and it is from His hand that we receive everything so praise the Lord (or as the Hebrews say, Hallelujah!)

December 16th - Vanessa wrote a play that the Methodist youth group (along with our kids) put on yesterday.  It was fun!  A little more practice would have been good but that is the way it goes!  I sang 3 songs from a Michael Card album.  The weather continues to be nice.  Does not look good for having a white Christmas.  God is so good!  I am amazed at how He continues to be faithful in His provisions.  What a wonderful family I have and it is only because of His love!

December 23rd - Beautiful snow!  Not so beautiful wind but hey, we live in North Dakota where the wind comes whipping o'er the plains......It is going to be nice though to have a white Christmas.  Hollis, Jasper, Starlit and Amanda came to Cloverdale on Friday and played some numbers for 4 different groups of workers.  I accompanied with the old trusty 12 string and then sang harmony with Hollis on Blue Christmas.  They did a great job and I received many  compliments on how well behaved they were and how well they played.  It was fun!

December 30th - Well another year is almost gone!  It is hard to believe how the time files by!  Had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas with the local family here.  We are going to Canada over New Years to see the family up there.  The boys built  a snow fort in a large drift in the back yard.  It has been nice to see some white on the ground instead of all the brown!
