August 2nd - Monday night we camped at Nelson Lake Zion rode the tube for the first time.  On Friday Vanessa had the stent removed that was put in after the kidney stone was blasted and she is feeling a lot better!  She did pass 3 more fragments of that stone after it was removed.  On Saturday the quartet sang at an outdoor festival by Hazen and had a great time.  We have had really nice weather and enjoying it.  I am putting a web site together for Johns art gallery so check that out.

August 9th - Well the big news is that Hollis is going to start college at the local college on the 24th so we are having a graduation party for him on the 22nd!  Wow!  A lot happens quickly sometimes.  He is taking his GED and took a placement test at the college and we are filling out forms like crazy!  The course is a 2 year music degree.  He interviewed 4 or 5 potential students for his guitar teaching and has 3 signed up for sure.  Vanessa is feeling good but tires easily (for some weird reason!)  More later!

August 17th - Wow!  I turned 45 and we had our 23rd anniversary and Don & Val and family were down and the weather was like fall - not your typical August week!  Our web site was down for a while so sorry about that.  Went to the lake on Sunday with Randy Hultsrand and his family and had a great time.  Vanessa is ready for the baby to come any time but of course that depends on the baby and not her.

August 23rd - We had a HUGE party for Hollis!  He got his drivers license on Tuesday and took the last GED test on Thursday and starts college tomorrow!  We had around 70 - 80 people show up for his party.  The weather was really questionable all morning but we just prayed and trusted and the more people who showed up, the more sun there was!  Had a wonderful time.  Will get some pictures up.  We tried to take a picture of Hollis with every family who came (not sure if I got them all) but most anyway.  He received some very nice gifts.  Thanks so much to Holly and Darcy for all they did!  We could not have had a party without their help.  Vanessa is exhausted but relieved that it is over.  Now she would like the baby to come.

August 30th - Hollis started college on Tuesday and seems to be enjoying it.  His friend from Wilton, Craig Holden is also attending BSC and that has been a real bonus!  Jasper & Starlit went up and watched Nick & Holly's kids for 4 days (Thursday - Sunday) while they were on a trip.  That went well.  It was strange not having them around.  Zion says not to call him a violinist but a musician so I said that was fine with me!  Nadine saw a rummage sale on Saturday with a lot of baby stuff so we ran over and got some EXCELLENT buys on some things we need.  Hollis was able to buy all his books with graduation gift money so that was a real blessing!  Thanks to all!
