August 4th - Vanessa had signed the Suzuki School up to play in the park for a program they call Brown Bag in the park (people bring lunch and eat while you play so they are "brown bagging it" BUT no one except Starlit, Amanda, & Colt were around so I accompanied them and we were on the news and in the newspaper!  Famous already I suppose.  My good friend Rick's father passed away so on Saturday Dennis (the bass from the quartet) and I sang at the funeral.  Vanessa came along - there was a great turnout.

August 11th - Don & Val and family were down for the week.  I did not get to spend much time with them as I did not have any time off work but it was good to see them.  Time sure flies!  Vanessa & I celebrated our 22nd anniversary yesterday!  Yah is so good and has blessed me with a wonderful partner!  I don't even want to think about what life would be like without her!  I am 44 today so may as well get that one out of the way.  Some days I feel old, and others I can not imagine how so much time could have passed.  We went to our good friends Gary & Deone's and Starlit & Jasper had a great time begging to learn who to drive a horse drawn cart.

August 18th - Can you say hot!  We have had a week of highs right around 100 and yesterday it was 106 above (that is 41.1 for you Celsius people)!  Went camping this weekend and had a great time even though it was a scorcher.  Playing in water is sure a wonderful thing when it is so hot.  It did cool down at night so we were able to sleep.

August 22nd - Wow!  we had a great weekend with George!  He came out Thursday evening and then Friday afternoon we headed for Medora.  The musical was great!  We stayed at the Trappers Inn in Belfield (15 miles away) and endured the heat.  It has been over 90 for 20 days in a row here.  George went home on Sunday and I took the kids and Colt to a movie over in Hazen and then we went swimming.  Good thing Monday's come along so a guy can get some rest!  Oh yeah, one side note, Zion called the badlands the evil lands.
