August 8th - Well I am a little late this week - many things happening! It has been H - O - T down here! Over 100 so there has been some swimming and boating and jumping in the river just to cool off. Still helping Fin with his house. Vanessa and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage on the 10th! Hard to believe that God has sustained us this long! What a blessing it has been to be married to my wonderful best friend for this time! I know that God has more in store for us and I look forward with anticipation to the next 20 years! August 12th - Well I am now 42! Strangely it feels a lot like 41? Anyway Vanessa & I just spent a wonderful weekend (left on Friday and back Sunday night) in Winnipeg. She really surprised me with a new wedding ring! The old one was pretty shot and this one is really nice! We enjoyed the Folklorama and visited the Irish, Scot, Greek, Metis and of course the Israel pavilions. Lots of good entertainment and food but the best was just having some time alone. I have been so richly blessed by the Lord and having Vanessa has been one of the best blessings! August 21st - Just had a stressful trip to Spearfish as my good friend Guy's father passed away and we went down for the funeral. I was glad we went in spite of the stress part because it meant a lot to Guy. On Saturday we went to the lake and Hollis got up on skis the first time he tried this year! That was great! Zion of course just loves the lake and swimming. His saying is "I want to go to water" I took him wading in the river last night for a bit and he wanted to dive right in. August 27th - Went to the lake 3 times again! Make hay (or in this case go to the lake) while the sun shines I say! Zion is experimenting with the water. Floating face down and seeing what he can find on the bottom and running a diving in and just plain old enjoying himself! He rode on the tube and likes that also. |
