April 7th - Well Starlit is 16 today!  Wow!  Had a party for her yesterday (pictures here).  We also had more rain - that seems to be about as surprising as wind in North Dakota.  We had more flooding and the poor goose had her eggs washed away again so I don't know if she is going to try again or not.  Flowers are blooming and things are green here.  Spring comes much earlier than in North Dakota.  Nick & Holly came down.  Nick has some Humana business in Louisville so Holly flew down with him.  Zion is busy exploring the woods and creeks and catching frogs and snakes.  Uff-da!  He is excited about his birthday coming up.  Vanya is crawling everywhere and trying to stand up.

April 14th - More cool weather.  We went down to watch the air show and HUGE fireworks show on Saturday that they call Thunder over Louisville.  It is the big kickoff for weeks of Kentucky Derby celebration.  It is the largest fireworks show in North America http://www.thunderoverlouisville.org/ Zion turned 9 on the 10th, the same day that Aunt Yvonne turned 72 and he enjoyed his day.  Jazmyn is sill looking for her birthday to come!  My dad tuned 73 on the 8th  so many reminders that God is good.  Please continue to pray for wisdom and guidance for our family and the McGuire family here as well as for New Life.

April 21st - Had a busy week and weekend. We played on Friday night up in Salem and then went to a Passover teaching and supper on Saturday night BUT the most enjoyable and rewarding was going to the Women's Correctional Facility in Madison Indiana on Sunday night and taking part of the service there.  My good friend Dan Utz called me Friday and wondered what we were doing on the weekend (always gives a guy plenty of time you know) and wanted us to come over to Madison (about 35 miles East of here) and join in on the service.  It was a remarkable time of seeing God work and of being reminded of how He spared me from my own stupidity when I was younger.  I wept over some of the testimony and was very encouraged to see God working.  Jasper and I installed a new water heater on Saturday to open up space for a stackable Washer & Dryer that we will install today.  God is good!

April 28th - The Washer & Dryer are in and work great!  We had mostly highs in the 80's until the weekend and it cooled off some.  The kids have been fishing and catching a few (they release them) and we have seen snakes and frogs, even a really cool tree frog.  Jasper has been fencing with a volunteer so we can move cows.  Vanya can patty-cake and is getting into everything.  Yesterday she dumped a cup of coffee (thankfully it had cooled off quite a bit) that I had sitting on the end table all over herself.  She did not get burned at all.  The enjoyment of spring has been wonderful!  Seeing all different flowers and trees blooming has been really nice.  I am praying that we can adjust to the heat and humidity.
