April 8th - Well Starlit is 11!  She started the celebration on Saturday evening with some girl friends over for a video party.  Then on Sunday evening we had the whole clan over for Angel Food cake with real whipped cream and strawberries and then of course Monday was the actual birthday so she went out for supper with Vanessa and took rice krispy squares to group for treats for everyone.  That evening we went to a presentation called Christ in the Passover and the guy that put it on was a Jewish man born and raised in Israel.  Afterwards Starlit asked him if he knew how to sing Happy Birthday in Hebrew and of course he did so he sang her Happy Birthday (and also said if she was 10 years older we could talk - he thought she was cute and so she is!) Then on Tuesday she received a package in the mail from cousin Grace with presents and was thrilled!  All-in-all a great birthday!  The weather has been very nice also.

April 13th - Zion is 4!  He had a great birthday.  It is fun to see how excited those little ones get.  The regional speech tournament was held in Washburn on Friday and Hollis made it into the final round in both poetry and story telling.  He got 3rd in poetry and 5th in story telling.  He will be going to State for poetry on the 26th.

April 21st - Had a wonderful Passover with Dave & Nadine and family.  What a great experience to share with loved ones.   Hollis, Starlit & I sang in the Cantata at the Baptist church in town and I really enjoyed singing with them.  Last Sunday we had record breaking temps (91 above) but then we had snow 3 days later!  Gotta love North Dakota!

April 29th - State is over and Hollis did not make finals but all in all it was a very good first year in speech.  The weather has been cold at night - seems like winter wants to tease us some.  A bit of rain but not enough yet.  We will pray for more rain.  Jasper did his book 2 recital Monday night and did a great job!
