Why did I go to Zambia in May 2009?

On March 31st at our weekly staff meeting Zambia was discussed.  After the meeting I felt distinctly that I should go to Zambia but it did not make any sense to me so I brushed it off.  The next week (April 7th) at the staff meeting we again spoke of Zambia and again I felt that I should go.

None of it made any sense to me.  We had people going to Zambia every year, we had staff in Zambia, what would I need to go there for?  (Humans always try to logically think things through instead of just listening to God!)

I talked to Vanessa about this and she thought I should go.  I knew that a team was going in September so I told her that maybe I would tell Duvon I would like to go with them.

On Monday April 13th, I emailed Duvon and told him that I felt that I should go.  He asked me if I had my Passport and I said yes why?  Well he said I am thinking sooner rather than later!

It turns out that he had just recently been speaking with Lameck (the country director in Zambia) about computer/printer/internet issues and vehicle issues and then I came up and said I felt I should go.

So less than 3 weeks later I was on the plane.

The first lesson of this has simply been - Listen!  Do not try to analyze, do not try to complicate things with your own logic, when you hear from God simply listen to His instructions.
