September 27th - Well I have missed a whole month here of updates! We still have more haying to do but are done for a while. The baler was successfully repaired and school is in full swing. We sang at a couple of festivals and Amanda Bauer came down for a visit. I went to the train station in Indianapolis and picked her up late Monday the 21st. We then had a week of rain but the sun came out on the weekend for the Balloon Glow down in Louisville. Of course that only lasted for a while and it rained again that night. We still had fun seeing the balloons and fireworks.
October 4th - Fall is in the air! Started a fire last night for the first time this year as the temps hit 45 or so. Nice days though. We played at a wedding on Saturday near here. The fellow who is our Chaplain here at New Life had a grandson getting married. It was a nice out door wedding although a bit cool for the fingers while playing. Then on Sunday we played at a small festival where the people who put it on make Molasses out of Sorghum (also called Sweet Sorghum) and once again it was a nice day but cold for playing. The feast of Tabernacles began on Friday evening and we have been eating suppers out on the porch in our "Sukkah" (some table clothes and a sheet stapled up to the sides of the porch) and I slept out in "the camping van" Friday night with Jazmyn and Zion which they loved and thought we should do that every night of course! We will be laying in a store of wood the next couple of weeks.
October 12th - Jasper is 19! Had a good birthday - grandma Lou and grandpa Lorentz arrived before supper on his birthday. We had rain most of the week and it is cool weather. Beautiful with the leaves turning colors (although having them all over the ground is not so good!). The fire feels good in the fireplace.
October 26th - Grandma is a year older (but we are not allowed to say how old that is) and they have been enjoying the nice weather here. It has rained a lot and the leaves are all turning so it is beautiful out but there will be a lot of raking to do. The kids (all of us but especially Zion, Jazmyn and Vanya) are enjoying grandpa and grandma.
