September 7th - Well Labor day came and went and Vanessa missed her chance to Labor on Labor Day!  We had rain and wind all weekend so it was just as well that we were not able to go camping.  Hollis is enjoying school still and got his GED information in.  They said on the form that he scored higher than 80% of high school graduates did on the tests so we are very pleased.  In the process of purchasing a PA system for our family band and had some fun trying it out.  Vanessa said the neighbors were going to call the police if we did not tone it down!  Zion has a blast with a microphone.  Wonder where he gets that from?  Jasper and Starlit started in to the home school year today (it is so nice to be able to wait to begin until after the long weekend) and Starlit has a new violin teacher this year.  Will keep you all posted about the baby coming and of course will have pictures!

September 13th - No baby yet!  Had a good picnic with Cloverdale yesterday.  They provided tickets for rides at the Super Slide park and Zion (OK the rest of us too) had a great time!  It was 90 and calm but a lot of wasps (or hornets or whatever that sting) were around and Zion did get stung.  There was a parade on Saturday that was over 2 hours long!  With the combination of political campaigns, Folkfest and the Powwow going on it was huge.  A lot of nice old cars and Zion got a bunch of candy of course.

September 20th - Well of course the big news is the arrival of Jazmyn!  We went into the hospital (because Vanessa had tested positive for Strep B - they found it first back during the whole kidney stone episode we decided to go into the hospital to have the baby so Vanessa could be on an anti-biotic) Wednesday morning and the water broke at 10:00 - things however did not get really going until Thursday morning at 2:00 and then she was born at 5:01 - exciting times for all!  Dr. Gretchen (the mother of one of Vanessa's students) was VERY cooperative with our wishes and so were the nurses there.  Pictures here and more here and more to come!

September 27th - Jazmyn continues to be a wonderful baby (not perfect mind you but doing great!) the weather has been very nice with some timely rain and then nice sunshine.  The older kids are a great help with everything and are a real blessing.  Had some good bike rides this summer as Bismarck has a  nice trail system.  Rode over 7 miles on Sunday with some pretty good hills.
