November 2nd - Well, October is history and so is Halloween.  We spent a quite evening at home with gramma and grandpa and prayed for others who were out.  That they would be safe from harm.  Tomorrow is election day so today is the last day of political ads!  Hip - hip - hurrah!  I detest them more each time I am forced to endure an election year.  The only good news is that I don't watch much TV so I miss out on most of them.  The ones on the radio (Yes, even the Christian radio) are bad enough.   All we can do is pray that God will bring those into power that He wants to accomplish His will.  In Jeremiah 25:9 the Lord refers to Nebuchadnezzar as His servant!  We must remember that although we may not understand the people allowed to be in power, they are there for His purpose!

November 4th - OK, so I said that God would bring into power those whom He had chosen and He did!  Not that I understand the gains the Democrats made BUT I still know that He is in charge!  This country will be humbled and brought to it's knees and this is just one more step in that direction.

November 6th - I helped my friend Rick put a transmission in Nick's Mazda 323 last night.  Not a bad job when one has a hoist and other correct tools!  Nick has had a string of misfortunes concerning vehicles this week.  On Monday something bad happened to the engine on his Bronco and then Tuesday night the tranny on the Mazda locked in 4th gear.  I guess those cheap made trannys will only go 230,000 miles!  Go figure!  Anita is still learning and progressing.  Please continue to pray for her!  Steve (the head guy) from Teen Challenge called me yesterday and we spoke for about 1/2 hour about things that I had e-mailed him about.  Pray that God's will continues to be done in Anita's life (and for that matter my life!).

November 9th - Grandpa got a deer on Friday (first day of deer season) so the boys were excited to help him skin it and all that.  Starlit wants the hide for a rug (NOT!) and yesterday we cut up and canned some of the meat and froze the rest.  It snowed some Saturday night and then more again last night so driving in to work this morning was interesting.  It is always strange the first snow.  People driving so cautiously - then one month later the same amount of snow doesn't even faze them!

November 11th - Snow and then more snow!  Add in some gentle breezes (say 15 - 25 mph) and what do you have?  A day off from work!  We got about 12 inches of heavy wet snow from Monday night through Tuesday so getting out of the yard was not possible.  We canned some beets and carrots and stayed dry and warm.

November 14th - Last night I was on my way into town around 9:00 (after having put the kids to bed) and the Northern Lights were out!  We don't get the opportunity to see them often down here so I came home and got the kids up and we drove around looking at them.  Then we came home and had some ice-cream and went to bed.

November 15th - We had a good Sabbath!  We have begun to fellowship with a couple of other families on Saturday's at 3:00 and really enjoying it!  God is so good as He leads if we will but follow.  It rained today (just what was needed on top of the snow!) so the kids have been getting quite wet as they play outside.  We are praying about holidays and what to do and would ask for prayers in that.  My right hand man (forgive me if I have mentioned this before but it is a big deal to me!) at work is leaving on the 25th so we are putting in some long hours trying to get things wrapped up while he is still here.  This might impact my availability to go anywhere over the holidays!  Will let you all know as soon as I know!  Starlit is progressing well with the violin (soon she will be caught up with mom!) and it is a joy to see them both learning so.  I have been playing a bit on the mandolin and accompany Vanessa as she plays.

November 22nd - Another excellent Sabbath was had!  We had more snow this week and I ended up staying over night at work a couple of nights.  Vanessa's grandpa Arlie is not doing well and is in the hospital in Turtle Lake.  He is almost 87 and did not look good when we went to see him on Saturday morning.  My man Jim (who is deserting me!) and I have been putting in some serious time trying to get this new accounting system up and running before he leaves.  Will keep you posted!

November 27th - Turkey day is history!  Of course there is still plenty of turkey to eat.  Had Ross & Janice and John & Darcy and kids over.  Went to see Arlie and he is not doing very good.  Continue to pray for him.

November 30th - Arlie passed away last night.  They had taken him to Bismarck for a CAT Scan and determined that he was bleeding in his brain and the prognosis was not good.  The funeral will probably be on Wednesday in Turtle Lake.
