We just spent the weekend of July 17 - 19 at SpiritFest MidWest at the Soo Pass Ranch in beautiful Detroit Lakes Minnesota! It was at the same time, both exhausting and exciting. I would have never thought that one could get too much music but I guess anything is possible! Seeing Randy Stonehill (and meeting him!) was the highlight of the weekend. Three excellent speakers shared with and challenged us to walk closer with our God and to share His awesome love with others. The underlying theme of many of the groups and speakers was to support Compassion International. We chose to sponsor a little girl below is her picture and other information for you to see. This is a wonderful way we can help and the kids are excited about it.
July has been a time of company for us. The weekend of the 4th my youngest brother Jonathan and his wife Allison were down. We had a good time sharing the 4th with them. Then on the 13th my sister Anita and her son Alex came down with Don and kids Ridge and Kynder. Anita and Alex went to SpiritFest with us! It has been a real joy having them here. Don went home on the 26th - the same day that Nick and Holly dedicated Levi to the Lord. Anita and Alex have chosen to stay for a while and we are continuing to enjoy their company and fellowship. We have been swimming a lot, both at the river (sand bars) and at the pool in town. Vanessa left this morning (the 31st) to fly to Indiana and bring gramma Grace back for a month long visit. It will be good to have her 'home' for a while. |
