January 4th - Happy New Year!  And a new decade on top of that.  Vanessa and the kids are safely home.  I had an eventful experience.  I left Thursday the 31st to drive a pickup up to ND for a guy we know up there.  He had a fellow working for him who came back to Indiana for the holidays and wound up dead so this looked like a good chance to get his truck back and then I would come back with Vanessa and the kids.  It was a 2006 F 350 with a Power Stroke so this looked like a nice ride! The only problem was the truck developed some type of problem and I limped into Clearwater MN and that was all she wrote!    My good friend Jim Chamberlain lives 40 miles from there so he came and picked me up and we got fuel filters and changed them outside in the cold but to no avail.  The guy who owned the truck decided (on the advice of several mechanics who thought it most likely had an injector or computer module problem) that we should take it to a dealer so we towed it to St Cloud and left it at the Ford dealer there. Vanessa picked me up and the way through and we got home last night.  The Lord is good and it was great to see Jim & family and do a lot of reminiscing about God's Country Gentlemen days etc.

January 11th - Happy birthday Vanessa!  Hard to believe she is 48 and in the best shape she has been in for many years!  I am totally excited to see the changes she has made over the past year.  You are not getting older - you are getting better!  The weather is also getting better although they cancelled school for 2 days last week because of snow.  We got about 3 inches so for us northerners that is funny!  It is probably for the best considering how poorly the people drive down here in snow.  We are keeping warm and the snow looks beautiful!  No wind so it came down straight and covered everything nicely.  We all seem to be recovered from the wild and wacky holidays and doing fine.

January 18th - Well, the snow lasted for a week.  Now it is gone and the weather has improved.  Highs in the 50's this week.  We are now the proud owners of a 34' Motor home!  Made a trade of our van and the Grand Am for a 1989 Motor home.  It runs really good, has a 454 in it and cruised home 205 miles at 65 MPH no problem at all.  It needs some cosmetic work but you do what you can with what you have.  This is a picture the guy had of it sometime before winter.

January 31st - More winter, a bit of snow, another school cancellation!  That was alright though as we suddenly had to fill an order for 25 purifiers and so we had some extra bodies around to help with that.  We shipped 101 purifiers in January which is a record.  Please pray that God will work through them in Haiti.  We have been working on the motor home.  Ripped all the carpet out and replaced all except up front by the driver and passenger seats with a vinyl that looks like wood.  It comes in 36" by 6" pieces and you lay it like you would a wood floor.  Had to reinforce a couple of spots where the windows had leaked.  The floor is all solid and there had been no leakage on the roof so things are coming along.
