January 5th - Another year is upon us. God is so faithful and all that He requires is that we follow as He leads! When we get that backwards is when we get in trouble. I am just coming off a 2 week chest cold that has really knocked me down so it is good to be feeling better. Hanz continues to grow and is healthy. ND has received much snow and cold weather. Work progresses slowly on the addition but patience is a virtue (one that I am trying to learn). We don't know of course all that God has in store for us BUT we trust that He knows what is best and all we want is to be in the center of His will. May you all have a Great New Year is His service.
January 12th - Vanessa is older! And Hollis will be 22 this week on the 15th. Vanessa and I made a quick trip to Chicago to pick up a forklift battery and a modified exercise bike (a company called Life Fitness had added a generator to it so we can test running a water purifier with it) and then when we got back I finally went to the doctor (I have been feeling poorly since the week before Christmas - coughing and raspy voice) and I have fluid in my left lung. So I got something for that and for the coughing BUT I still coughed so much (I suppose it was the accumulation of all the coughing really) that on Saturday night I heard a pop and felt something go out in my back. Like a rib let loose. Uffda I can tell you that hurt like something! I am feeling some better and have not left the house going on the 3rd day here. I really want to be feeling better! We had an inch or two of snow. It actually snowed one day the whole day BUT it was so warm it melted as fast as it hit. They (the county) do nothing for these little roads out here so they can get slick very easy. Of course they are such twisty narrow roads that you have to drive sensibly even under good conditions! Jasper has been spending a lot of time with a young lady he met over the holidays. She seems like a very nice and intelligent young woman. Her name is Cathryn so please pray that God will be leading in their relationship.
January 19th - Well I went back to the doctor Sunday night and found out that now both lungs sound bad. So more medicine (the strong and expensive stuff) so hopefully that will take care of this problem. I can not imagine how it must be to be sick for months and years! This has been way too long for me. It started on December 21st so I am ready for it to be done! We have had more cold weather and some light snow. Of course it is nothing compared to the wild weather they are having in ND!
