January 5th - Well we had a very fun and busy trip!  Left on the 27th in the rain and it was snow at Minot so it was an ugly drive to Weyburn.  Stayed there and had a good trip to Three Hills on Sunday.  The whole family was together on New Years and then on  Friday we all (thanks Grace for your generosity!) went to the Waterslide park at West Edmonton mall!  That was a total blast!  Darcy had her baby on the 2nd just after midnight.  We came home on Saturday and drove straight through with good roads almost all of the way.  Spent Sunday just trying to recuperate from having fun! January 11th - Happy Birthday Grandpa Ross (the 9th) Vanessa (the 11th) and Hollis (the 15th).
Very cold and windy the first part of the week but a bit nicer now.  Still windy of course.  Went to a Microsoft seminar on Thursday and got a peek at some of the new stuff with Server 2003.  Of course they want you to upgrade so they show you all the good stuff!  It was pretty neat.  I won the grand prize in the drawing they had for attendees (first time I can think of that has happened to me) and it was a PDA and since Cloverdale had bought me one in December, I gave it to Vanessa for her birthday.

January 18th - We have had very nice weather except for the wind!  Had 60 MPH winds one night and I thought we were scheduled for takeoff!  Hollis turned 17 on Thursday and Vanessa had her birthday (can't say how young she is!) Went skiing at Huff Hills on Friday.  Had a great time and no one got hurt although I am pretty stiff and sore.  Had a couple of wipe outs but not the face plant kind!  I am going to ask Zion if he wants to learn how and if he is interested I will try him out the next time we go.

January 25th - Snow!  We received around 6 inches along with wind and cold!  Hollis had a speech meet in Bismarck and took 4th in Poetry.  He took a 4th in story telling the first meet (on the 10th in Valley City) and in these meets just getting into the final round is quite an accomplishment.  Having a good winter so far.  Did some tobogganing in the yard and Zion had fun with that.
