February 8th - The second round of antibiotics seems to have done the trick - although it sure did take its time.  Now Starlit has a bit of a cold and is taking medication for it.  Last Monday the 2nd we went skiing with the Homeschool group down here.  There is a really nice hill (similar terrain wise to Huff Hills but has 5 chair lifts and a large nice lodge) at Paoli Peaks.  It is about an hours drive west of here and of course they make all their own snow.  It had been in the 60's on Sunday so there was melting that happened so the slopes were rather hard underneath the surface.  To make a long story short I wiped out after lunch around 1:00 and put a rather nasty gash in the back of my head.  It required 4 staples that evening after we got home.  The snow stayed almost 2 weeks (which is a long time for here!) Vanya is just crazy for getting outside - walk walk she says.  Jasper is still spending a lot of time with Cathryn.  I found a set of rims for his Mustang so it now looks like a Mustang should.  With all the bad weather and people being sick Vanessa has not had many students since the New Year but that should be changing.

March 6th - well my mother noticed that there had not been much news (actually none at all!) for the rest of February so here is the wrap up!  My head healed fine and Vanessa pulled out the staples.  We have been hanging sheetrock (yes you Canadians that is the same as gyprock) in the addition and have had nice weather.  It has actually been in the 60's for a few days.  We went to the women's prison at Madison again for all 3 nights and Vanessa came Friday and Saturday and shared her testimony on Saturday night to around 200 women.  Sunday they gave an altar call and 30 women came forward so that was really exciting!  Last weekend we went to a Maple Syrup festival here on Sunday and had a wonderful time.  It was cold and windy that day but still not bad.  This coming Sunday we are going to be singing at a different Maple Syrup festival.  We sold our mini-van and bought a full size 94 Ford conversion van.  It needed some TLC but I think is going to be a good van.  Everyone likes the room and the built in TV with DVD player.  Vanya is singing and talking (although it is still a struggle to make out most words) up a storm.  The other day I walked in at lunch and she said "It's daddy!   I love you!"  That is what makes it all worth while!  Zion is progressing very well in school and with his violin.  He also did a skit Thursday night where he was dressed up as a clown and did a great job!  He is looking forward to when the snakes come out.  Not me!  Well, more later.  Continue to pray for God's provision and direction for New Life.

March 15th - What a week!  Nice weather, flowers are poking up, frogs are croaking, and we are making huge progress on the additions.  All the sheetrock (expect for the bathroom as it has not been plumbed yet) is up and about 1/2 is mudded and taped!  We had a work crew on Saturday that helped with that and several other projects here at New Life.  Vanya is loving the outdoors - walk walk walk is all she wants to do.  Go anutie shes says.  On my facebook page I put a video of her wearing my shoes so check that out if you want to.  Went to the prison at Branchville with Dan Utz today and had a wonderful time of seeing God work!  Jasper, Starlit and Zion are sick (many young people in the area have caught this so they probably got it from the cousins who picked it up at school and of course Jaspers "friend" Cathryn was also sick).  Have a great week!

March 23rd - Weather here is nice and seasonal.  North Dakota is facing floods in the east and blizzards in the west!  We are all feeling better but still have a bit of the "crud".  Starlit went to the ocean for 10 days with Josiah, Paige and the triplets so she is having a blast down there.  It is spring break this week for the school system.  It won't be long now and we will need to mow.  Much raking and tree limb pickup to be done.  We did get some crushed rock (they don't have gravel pits down here) hauled in to the new driveway by the addition so that will keep the mud situation easier to deal with.

March 30th - It looks like some relief for the flooding in ND - wow that has been something!  We have had cooler and wet weather here but things are greening up and there are trees budding out all over/  Starlit got home last night and it was good to see her.  Jazmyn and Vanya were ecstatic!  The conversion van is working nicely and when I filled it up it made 14.2 on mostly trips to Louisville and back so that seems pretty good.  I have not towed with it yet but it has the receiver hitch and a flat 4 plug that I will replace.
