February 7th - Another month goes by!  Zion is 10 months old and getting into everything!  He has been a real joy.  There has been some strange activity at the farm (strange considering the time of year!) tree house building!  The boys have one - the girls have one!  It is amazing how motivated they can be when they have a project of their own to work on!  There is still no snow to speak of.  Janice is doing good and we just Praise God for His work on her behalf.  The first week at my new place went OK.  A lot of distractions getting phone service - mail service and NOT GETTING Internet service!  They were supposed to install it on the 1st but there is a break in the cable outside the building (under the pavement) and the need to dig in new cable so now we are just waiting.

February 9th - well, the sound of jack hammers outside the office were a welcome sound!  They ran the new cable (at least physically to the outside of the building) so progress is being made.  We have a new Christian radio station here in our area that is great!  They also are available on the web at www.klove.com and they do a bumper sticker of the day.  The one I heard on Monday gave me cause to reflect on some errors in thinking that our culture perpetuates.  The sticker was "God said it - I believe it - That settles it!"  now lets think about that for a minute.  It is totally absurd (and totally arrogant American/Canadian mindset) to think that what I believe matters!  The wonderfully simple truth is that God said it - That settles it!  That is plenty good enough for me!

February 14th - Snow!  We finally got some snow!  And just in time for skiing on Thursday.  Now Hollis has the dubious distinction of joining Uncle Oz as the only people I personally know who have broken skis while skiing!  He was pretty sore after his little crash but is OK!   What a weekend!  We left at 10:30 Saturday morning to go down to Belle Fourche for my good friend Guy's wedding at 7:30 that evening.  We then drove down to Deadwood-Lead on Sunday to look at the 2 ski places there before heading back home.  We got our internet connection at the new office up and running on Friday.

February 21st - More nice weather - I hope the snow lasts at least until Friday as we are going skiing again!  My partner Jim & I just spent a wild weekend getting our first software package installed for a beta test at the Mandan PD.  Your prayers for this project are greatly needed!  Zion is a lot of fun to talk to on the phone!  Although he does like to push the buttons and disconnect you.  He had a rough weekend with having a cold and a clogged nose so Vanessa did not get much sleep either (what I mean is that I was gone and not sleeping because of work and she was home with Zion and not getting much sleep!).  Your prayers for continued health for all are appreciated.  Remember as gramma Blanche says - God is good!

February 28th - Well, we were supposed to have a lot of snow this weekend BUT God spared us and we only got about an inch of rain and then maybe 2 - 3 inches of snow.  Janice went into to the hospital on Thursday evening with a lot of pain from more kidney stones.  They were going to do a procedure of some sort (they had not decided what exactly) on Saturday morning BUT God answered our prayers and the stones passed!  God is good!  She is still in because they want to do some more tests but is feeling good and wants to go home.  Vanessa has been suffering with a sinus infection all week and I was feeling pretty rough all weekend.  Had a bad throat and headache from the sinus thing.  We went to Butte (about an hours drive) last night to sing and we prayed about my headache and throat.  When I started to sing at 7:00 the headache went away and it has not come back!  Praise God for His continued faithfulness to us.
