December dates to remember - Hanukkah - 13th - 21st - Program at New Song 20th - Christmas - 25th.

December 1st - The funeral will be on Thursday in Turtle Lake.  Vanessa and I will be singing and so will Darcy and I.  Anita was in an accident over the weekend but Praise God none of them were seriously injured!  God is good (another quote from gramma Blanche) and continues to show his mercy to us all.  Mom & dad are coming for Christmas.  They will be picking Anita up and bringing her down.

December 7th - Had another great week!  Every thing that happens in our lives is an opportunity that God has given us to offer up Praise to Him!  The kids are knee deep in practice for the Christmas program at New Song.  I am helping out with the music and Hollis is singing a solo.  Buzz is a sheep and Al and Sis are angels.   They are so serious about it all, Buzz says being a sheep is boring - "you just sit there!".  We are continuing to enjoy our Sabbath suppers and the fellowship we have become part of on Saturdays at 3:00.

December 15th - Been so busy that I have not had time to update this news page!   Shame on me!  OK, that is out of the way so here is the latest.  Starlit was in her first concert with her violin last night.  She took it very seriously and did a great job.  There was a little girl (4 years old) who was hilarious.  The weather has been very pleasant , actually would like some snow so the brown would be covered.  This is our first year of celebrating Hanukkah and Sunday night was the first night.  The practice's for the Christmas program are a real challenge.  I have been asked to both lead and accompany the children as they sing and getting any serious cooperation has not been easy.  Funny thing about kids - they want to act like kids!  The scary thing is that I actually act like one most of the time myself.   Well, I better go and get some real work done.

December 16th - More news!  We have a dog - to make a long story short 2 years ago I helped Don get rid of some puppies and one of them went to my good friend Jim Scheitel - well Jim is single and works a lot and started feeling sorry for Buddy and asked if we would take him.  I brought him home last night and the kids were - lets say exuberant!  He is a bouncy fun loving guy and I will get newer pictures of him. This is one that Jim had but he is a cutie!

December 21st - Well the program went as good as can be expected when you have over 50 energetic kids bouncing around the place!  The kids are loving the dog!   The cat (Chewy) is not so sure about the dog but they are eating each others food (variety?) and getting along.  The weather has turned cold (actually about normal but it has been so nice that we are not used to it) with a little snow so looks like a white Christmas after all!  We had a great time celebrating Hanukkah (the Jewish celebration of dedication also called the festival of lights) this year - it is a festival to commemorate the liberation and rededication of the temple in 164 BC.  We studied a different aspect of light according to God's word each evening and lit the candles on the Menorah.

December 28th - Another celebration of Christmas is history!  Mom, dad and Anita made it down safely on the 24th arriving around 4:00 PM.  We spent Christmas eve with everyone at Ross and Janice's and had a wonderful time of eating, singing and opening gifts.  Holly had sorted out about 400 photos that I helped her make a video of for Ross and Janice and that was the last present opened and it turned out pretty nice.  Many hours into that project!  On Christmas morning we (Mom, Dad, Anita, Al and our family) had a brunch and opened gifts.  We all got together again at 1:00 at John and Darcy's for more food!  (Yes we can all still walk!)
