December 1st - Wow!  It is hard to describe this being a grandpa.  I suppose for people whose own children are pretty much grown up it is totally different but for me it is hard to hold the little guy and process that he is my grandson.  At any rate it is amazing!  Birth, the gift of life and the wonderful God we serve who makes it all possible.  Starlit, Zion and I left Indiana Thursday evening (the 20th) at 8:45 and drove straight through so it was a long drive.  It is 1170 miles from here to there and gas prices were as low as $1.549 on the way back.  We had a good Thanksgiving at John & Darcy's.  My good pal George came out from Fargo and grandma Lou (and grandpa Lorentz) came down so it was a wonderful time.

December 8th - We actually had some snow.  Not anything to accumulate but it did look pretty.  Also colder weather - lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's so not bad as far as I am concerned.  Hanz is doing fine and gramma V is missing him.  Gas is down to $1.589 here.  We are all involved in the Christmas play at the little church.  They are actually doing a play that Vanessa wrote and that we helped with in Washburn back in 2002.  Jasper, Starlit and I are doing pre-performance music for a big church in Scottsburg that does a living Christmas Tree (the 63 member choir stands in this huge tree) program 6 performances in all.  Vanya is cutting more teeth and has a bit of a cold along with that.  Other than that we are all doing well.

December 24th - Tis the season for being very busy!  We had some actual cold weather here!  2 days after it was in the 60's on last Friday it was in the single digits with wind and it was cold!  They go crazy with salt here any time they think it might rain. We did a play at the local church here that Vanessa had written in 2002 for the church in Washburn and it went very well.  Things continue to be busy here with New Life and looking forward to the next year.  God is good and faithful.
