August 1st - Hard to believe that July is gone!  And soon Jasper and Starlit will be also.  We played at the Jackson County Fair and then for a group from New Life this weekend.  I am going to miss those 2!  We are planning a trip to Hyden this coming weekend to finalize housing and enjoy and participate in the Osborne Brothers Festival in Hyden.  Hot weather has stayed with us and we have been to the lake twice this weekend.

August 9th - Wow, I never heard so much good music in 2 days!  Bobby Osborne, The Grascals, The Lonesome River Band, and others!  And of course it was hot!  This all took place in Hyden (where Jasper and Starlit are going to go to school) Thursday through Saturday.  Everyone but me went down Thursday with the RV.  Jasper drove and it all went well.  I went down Friday leaving work at 3:00 and we had a wonderful time.  More heat is on the way.  Last week we had several days of heat indexes over 115 and "Air quality warnings" whatever those are.  God is good, all the time.  All the time, God is good!

August 16th - I am trying to adjust to life without Jasper and Starlit but it is going to take a while.  Last night I kept excepting them to come in as I lay there trying to sleep.  They had an uneventful trip down to Hyden with the van and trailer packed full.  John Collins also drove a vehicle down and took some stuff.  The weather is suppose to cool off to more seasonal temps this week and "only" be 88 or so - that will actually feel nice compared to 98!  Uffda!  We have gone swimming many times and have had several severe storms blow through so the humidity hangs in there at a nice high level as well.  Maybe there is something to this global warming?  God is in control of it all so no use in complaining.  My niece gets married this coming weekend up in Canada.  Sure wish we could be there.  The older I get the more I realize how important the people in our lives are.  Cherish each and every one y'all!

August 22nd - A quick trip to Hyden.  Bought a used couch and loveseat and hauled it down there.  Left at 5:00 on Saturday evening and back by 5:30 on Sunday.  It was good to see the kids and meet the roomie, she seem like a nice gal.  Her name is Brittany Burden, she is from Georgia and plays mandolin and guitar.  Hard to believe the time files by so quickly.  The school year is underway, music lessons are beginning also.
