Dates to remember - April 1st Passover - April 7th Starlit is 7 and Ross & Janice Anniversary - April 22nd Anniversary

April 1st - We celebrated Passover with Ross & Janice and John & Darcy!   Wonderful celebration with such awesome significance both then and now.   Highly recommend that you look into it.

April 2nd - Snowed in yesterday!  We got over 9 inches with much wind (that was a big surprise NOT!) so I figured for sure the baby would come but it still hasn't.  Of course there is another storm coming tonight and tomorrow so it has another chance to be born in a blizzard.

April 5th - Had more snow on Saturday but no baby!  The cantata at the church both Friday evening and Sunday morning went well.  The kids enjoyed having some wet snow to play in (as it had all melted before this!) but this won't stick around long.

April 7th - Today Starlit is 7!  She has been counting down the days for the past 5 weeks.  We went for an ultrasound yesterday just to make sure everything was alright with the baby and it is!  The fact is that assigning a due date is not an exact science and some women get pregnant closer to the end of the cycle than others.   They said they baby measured out as a full term baby and placed it at 40 weeks so we will continue to wait on the Lord for His timing.  Will keep you posted!

April 8th - Starlit had a great birthday.  We had a party with all the cousins (that live around here) and a few friends.  Played some games, ate cake, opened presents and then broke open a Piņata!  That was the highlight of the party.   Starlit asked for and received a doll from the American Girl Doll company.   She is a Swedish girl called Kirsten Larsen and you can find out more about her by clicking here!  She is paying for part of the doll with birthday money she received.

April 10th - 8 pound 14 ounces - 22 1/2 inches long - name to be decided - 6:07 A.M. April 10th  and all is well!  We had chosen to have this baby at home and Vanessa went into labor around midnight - the water broke at 3:00 and the midwife arrived around 4:45 - baby came our perfectly fine at 6:07!  Praise The Lord He has given me a son!

April 11th - Zion Emmanuel is the name we have chosen.  The Lord gave Vanessa the name Zion as soon as she knew she was expecting!  When she told me the name I knew it had to have Emmanuel as the middle name.  Zion has several meanings - Israel - Jerusalem - heaven - praise and Emmanuel means God with us so together the 2 are a great message!

April 12th - Here is a picture of Zion about 4 hours old and one with Grandpa Ross & Grandma Janice.  Every one is doing fine and actually all got some (with the emphasis on some!) sleep last night!

April 16th - Zion is doing well and learning to sleep at night!  (at least some!) it seems when they are born they have days and nights sort of mixed up.  Vanessa is very tired but starting to turn the corner.  I took most of the week off to be home and help her.  Her mom is not able to help as she is still recovering from the infection she got in her incision.  She is continuing to improve although it will be a long process before it is completely healed.  God continues to be faithful to us and answer our prayers.  Will have some more pictures after this weekend.

April 20th - God is continuing to answer prayers.  Zion was having some real difficulty nursing and God healed him on Sunday!  Praise God that He continues to work miracles in this day!

April 23rd - sorry about no new pictures this week!  Mom isn't happy with any that we took.  We had a good anniversary yesterday.  Ed & Bev had a big banner on their door (covered the whole door!) and watched the kids (not Zion) while we went out to eat.  Zion has been doing real good and seems to be getting into a routine of sorts.

April 26th - Zion is getting along really well!  He has been good at night so we are getting some sleep.  They had a baby shower for him yesterday at the Baptist Church in Washburn and even the men were invited!  Had a good turnout and he was the perfect baby for all!
